The Trust has taken the Chris Hani School, an independent school in the Joe Slovo Informal settlement in Langa, under it’s wing. With help from funding by the Oprah Winfrey’s “Angel network”, a number of exciting initiatives are under way to help ease the burden on these enterprising educators.
Baukje Kingma and Jogchum Reitsma visited Cape Town recently and upon return from their holiday, decided to donate all money collected at their wedding ceremony to the trust’s Chris Hani School project. Many Thanks Baukje Kingma and Jogchum Reitsma for the kind donation of €400.

Enver Malley, one of the TCD trustees took talk-show host Oprah Winfrey to the school recently. After seeing the work of the trust, Oprah pledged to pay the salaries of all the teachers for the next 3 years. Thank you Oprah!
